Refresh your body, clear your mind, and energise your soul for 7 days and 7 nights in Northern Nicaragua. The Wild Ambitions Retreat offers opportunities for you to discover more about yourself and the immense power of simple living with a full and open heart - truly, some of the best medicine out there.
With daily yoga practices, mindfulness-based coaching workshops, surf, plenty of hammock time and other playful adventures, we've curated an intimate and immersive experience.
This retreat will offer a variety of yoga classes, which will flow with the rhythm of the group experience.
Morning classes will be dynamic, energizing flows that synchronize quality of movement and breath. The classes are mindfully sequenced and themed to build on one another and to ultimately deepen your yoga practice and strengthen your connection within.
A few restorative evening classes will be offered to compliment our morning flows, allowing you to cultivate a meditative mind and slip into a deep state of relaxation.
All classes will include guided breathing techniques and are suitable for all levels. Modifications will be offered with a focus on safety and alignment.
WILD AMBITIONS WORKSHOPS
The Wild Ambitions workshop series was created to reconnect you with self and guide you to take actions that enrich your life. Each workshop incorporates shared discussions and practical exercises from current research in coaching and positive psychology, the science of human flourishing and optimal performance. It’s my vision that, as you interact with the content and implement what you are learning, you will reveal new aspects of yourself and become more skilled at choosing and creating more consciously.
To facilitate your experience, we've chosen oceanside accommodation on an breathtaking stretch of soft sand beach with a surf break right in our front yard. Monty's Beach Lodge is a rustic hide-away on Nicaragua's gorgeous north Pacific coast. The palm thatch lodge, yoga deck, pool, and restaurant sit along the ocean shores at the edge of the traditional fishing village of Jiquilillo.
Jiquilillo is one of three small fishing communities situated on the peninsula of Punta Caliente. It's surrounded by the Padre Ramos Estuary (part of the largest estuary system in Central America) and the Pacific Ocean. Jiquilillo is home to approximately 135 families, with an average of four to five children per family. Therefore, although the village may appear small, a large amount of people actually live here. The majority of the families live in small ranchos (palm roof huts), the typical Nicaraguan home of this region. Families have traditionally relied on the fishing industry as the main source of income.
Village life is quiet and laid back; the people are friendly and welcoming. As Jiquilillo is small and located in the countryside there are only a few services available throughout the village. The weather is always hot, regardless of the time of year. The months of November through May are considered dry season.
Meals are prepared by local staff and served buffet style at Monty’s Lodge; in addition, we may choose to venture out for a meal or two. Meals vary throughout our stay but expect to taste local favourites such as fresh fish, chicken, pork, with gallo pinto as well as fresh local fruit and vegetables. If you have Special Meal Requests, please let us know if you have any allergies or food preferences. Monty’s staff will do their best to accommodate you.
